We are Urim Trader ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Kenya. We operate the mobile application Urim Trader (the "App") and related services. Our mission is to provide a risk-free, simulated environment for learning about the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

1.2 Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information, including personal information, in conjunction with your access to and use of the Urim Trader App and our associated services (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

  • Usage Data: We collect information about your interactions with the App, such as the pages or screens you view, the trades you simulate, and the features you use (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations, Health Scores).
  • Device Information: We collect data about the device you use to access the App, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Log Data: Our servers automatically record information, including your IP address, access times, and app crashes.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication Services: If you link, connect, or login to the App with a third-party service (e.g., Google), we receive certain information, such as your profile information, from that service.
  • Analytics Providers: We may receive aggregated data from analytics partners to help us understand how users engage with our Services.

2.4 Children’s Data

Our Services are not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

  • To process your simulated trades and track your virtual portfolio performance.

  • To send you push notifications regarding market pulses or price alerts (if enabled).

  • To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Services.
  • To personalize your experience, such as suggesting stocks based on your viewing history (simulated data only).
  • To improve our AI algorithms and educational content.

3.4 Security and Fraud Prevention

  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities.
  • To protect the rights and property of Urim Trader and others.

3.5 Legal and Regulatory Purposes

  • To enforce our Terms and Conditions.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud Hosting: To store our data securely (e.g., Railway, Firebase).
  • Analytics: To understand user behavior (e.g., Google Analytics).

Your personal data is processed and stored on secure servers. While we operate from Kenya, our cloud service providers may store data in other jurisdictions.

If we transfer your personal data out of Kenya, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

  • We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.
  • Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts approved for use which give personal data the same protection it has in Kenya.

6.4 Complaints to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner

If you believe we have infringed your rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya.
